Mechanical filters, also called pressure filters, are an important part of advanced sewage treatment, pre-treatment of pure water preparation, and water purification systems. Using one or several filter media, under a certain pressure, the original liquid is passed through the media to remove impurities, thereby achieving the purpose of filtration. The materials are glass fiber reinforced plastic, carbon steel or stainless steel. According to the different filter media, they are divided into natural quartz sand filters, multi-media filters, activated carbon filters, manganese sand filters, etc.; the fillers inside are generally: quartz sand, anthracite, particles Porous ceramics, manganese sand, etc.; control methods include manual and automatic control, whether it is equipped with PLC control system, etc.; whether it is equipped with lifting, backwash pumps, etc.
Mechanical filter classification
1. Quartz sand filter
Quartz sand filter is a filter that uses quartz sand as the filter material. It can effectively remove suspended solids in water, and has obvious removal effect on colloidal iron, organic matter, pesticides, manganese, bacteria, viruses and other pollutants in water. Quartz sand filter equipment has the characteristics of simple structure, automatic control of operation, large processing flow, few backflushing times, high filtration efficiency, low resistance, and convenient operation and maintenance.
2. Activated carbon filter
Activated carbon filters are widely used in the pretreatment of domestic water and water in the food industry, chemical industry, power and other industries. Because activated carbon has a developed pore structure and a huge specific surface area, it has a strong adsorption capacity for dissolved organic matter in water, and it has a good removal effect on organic pollutants that are difficult to remove by biological and chemical methods. . The filter material is activated carbon, which is used to remove color, smell, residual chlorine and organic matter. Its main mode of action is adsorption. Activated carbon is an artificially made adsorbent.
3. Multi-media filter
Multi-media filter is a process in which one or several filter media are used to pass water with higher turbidity through a certain thickness of granular or non-granular materials under a certain pressure, thereby effectively removing suspended impurities and clarifying the water. Commonly used Filter materials include quartz sand, anthracite, manganese sand, etc. The common multi-media filters used in water treatment are: anthracite-quartz sand-magnetite filter, activated carbon-quartz sand-magnetite filter, activated carbon- Quartz sand filter, quartz sand-ceramic filter, etc.
